Back on the wagon...

Remember that list that I did a while back?

Well, I am still working on it! Honestly!

It is taking me longer than what I thought it would. That's nothing new! I'm a huge 'no concept of time' type of person and tend to be VERY optimistic with time. Which drives Callum batty!

Here is what I have done...

Running; I had started a running program...then I went home and 'pressed pause'.
Back on it now, just about to go after I finish this! I have found a couple of 5K's around here for this fall and still plan on doing one of them.

Organizing/de-cluttering; I actually did not stop doing this even though I did not update y'all. Before going back home Callum and I did the spare bedroom and laundry room. While home I did most of my parents kitchen...yes, they finally said goodbye to George Foreman! This past weekend we did our bedroom. It's about 95% done. You will not see before pictures of that room because it was THAT BAD!

By this weekend we will finish our bedroom and then on to the last room. A bedroom that has boxes and boxes and boxes and boxes of books.

Then we're again starting the process to get back to our home and native land and putting the house on the market.
So please pray, chant, talk to your angels, think good thoughts, etc... for us to get the hell out of here!

Welcome to My Etsy Shop!

-Rainbow Fluorite and sterling silver bracelet.

-Taqua nut and sterling silver earrings.

- Freshwater pearls, Swarovski crystal and sterling silver earrings.

- Coral and sterling silver earrings.

It's just the start of it. There is much more that I need to get on. I also will be doing a craft fair at the end of October in Atlanta.

Still working on the going green! I am getting better at using less water and I finally believe that you do not need a different cleaner for every mess, room or surface. I am down to 2! I would be down to 1 but I like them both too much!

As for the exclamation points...you will notice that I have cut back hugely on them.

I will still use them! They are a need for me! I have just cut down, eg. before I would have put 5 ! in the last sentence, now I put just one!

I have put in to start volunteering at the American Cancer Society. Just waiting to hear back.

So, as you can see I am still working on my list. Just trying to get back into the swing of things since being back home. Making things even worse is that I've had a horrible headache since last Wednesday which has put me a little out of commission. It's probably the change in air pressure but secretly I think I'm allergic to west GA!

What have you been up too?
Have you worked on your list?

A Little of This and a Little of That...

So today I was ordering some flowers and I was checking out the website of the florist. They have a little film showing you the different times in life that you can send flowers.

I wasn't really paying too close attention until I heard, right between 'get well soon' and 'finding happiness';

"Getting out of jail"

Yes, getting out of jail is a GREAT time to give flowers!!

Seriously?!? Check it out for yourself!

-----

I came across this a little while back...I found it incredibly funny.

This is what is written on the back package of the famous dolphin condom.

-----
Finally, a bit of an un-eventful weekend. We really didn't do much of anything.

No organizing, even though I have a couple of rooms left and they are just 'killing me'. Now that all my other rooms are still organized the ones that aren't I can't bare to go in.

Callum and Geordie put together a solar system;

Final results;

...and they played.

----

Setting; Mummy, Daddy & Geordie at the table eating supper...

Mummy: "blah, blah, blah... blah, blah blah... blah, blah..." [as according to Callum]

Geordie: "HEY!!! Slow down Lady!"

Callum is still laughing over this one.

Sorry, I'm busy organizing and loving it!!!!

This last week I have been quite busy. Had a friend down from back home visiting (that is such a NS sentence!) and we've been sewing up a storm. Damn! That sounds boring.

I have also been de-cluttering a few more rooms. I while back I talked about how I was organizing our world.

I started with the dining room and then moved on to the office/play room. Here's how that now looks...

We have a new rule now. ALL TOYS FIT IN TRAIN TABLE, BASKET OR 'TOYBOX'!!!

If it does not, OUT IT GOES!! If a new toy comes an old one goes OUT to make room. Because of this we decided to get rid of this...

Anyone want to buy it?

This past weekend I did the kitchen. Surprisingly it only took about half an hour. I went through EVERYTHING!!

This is what's going...

(please do not be offended if you gave us something and it is on this table. We had a great time with it and now it is time to have a great time with someone else!)

This was the trash...

Meanwhile, champagne grapes are in season. Geordie loves them. Today I surprised him with them.

"Oh, they are so sweet!!! They are just so sweet and precious!!!"

Every Moanday morning...

This is what my sink looked like last night...

This is what it looked like this morning when I got up...

Doesn't look that much different in the picture does it?!? Take a closer look...

Just like it does every Moanday morning!! Drives me crazy!!! Sometimes I will just bite the bullet and clean it. Other times I wait and see if Callum will clean it. Funny, huh?!?!? You know he doesn't because, "my glasses are off, I don't see it" and I end up doing it anyway!!

Does anyone else have this problem?!?!?!

On to better things...

As for my weekend project;

It really didn't take that long. We almost have it totally finished. See those pictures on the floor, they need to go up on the wall but we ran out of 'putter-uppers'. Great thing is, it totally motivates you to do more. We even started on the next room.

Here is the next room to downsize and organize...

It is our playroom/office. Yesterday we actually got half way through. We are hoping to finish over the next couple of days.

This weekend we also added a new pet...

Meet Steve - he's a little bigger than Baby Geordie and there is a possibility that it might be Stephanie. The two seem to get along.

Not the best picture but he's still a little too frisky to come out and play.

To Be or Not To Be....Organized?!?!?

When we moved down here, we moved from a 1.5 bedroom/1 bath apartment in Toronto to a four bedroom/three bathroom house. How is it that almost five years later we have...

TOO MUCH STUFF?!?!?!

Thing is we even got rid of a lot of it due to the incident. Moving out of this place into a two-bedroom town house made us get rid of a lot of [crap] stuff. Then moving back into there we deliberately tried to get rid of more...and then we didn't finish!

Is that really a surprise?!?! I am the never ending starter... and unfortunately Callum is not my finisher. Plus, we are also both pack rats.

The other day I was at my super-duper organized friend's house (you know, my southern BFF who is pretty much the exact opposite of me) and sitting in her house, seeing a real example made me really think that I could do this!!

So, I am trying to get myself on an organizational binge. I am reading 'It's All Too Much' and 'The Not So Big Life'. I'm waiting on 'Inside The Not So Big House', as it is not at my library.

Yes, I now am a member of the library.

It took me a while and I still have problems when I think about how the book I am holding was probably in someone else's bed but I'm doing it!!! Going to the library was the first step of this whole downsizing way of life. Not only do I save money by not buying books, I then give them back and I don't have to find a place for them.

What it comes down too is when the time comes and we move from here...which for all of our sanity better be sooner than later... we will never have a house this size again. Therefore we will not have the room for the amount of junk (and most of it IS junk) that we have. Plus, we will probably be the ones moving ourselves and paying for it!!

Did you know that the size of houses has doubled in the past 30 years?!?!?!

Minus our bedroom this is our worst room. It becomes a stopping spot for things that we don't have a place for. On this table includes pictures that we have yet to put up, reusable shopping bags that I have not found a place for some knitting stuff, mail and my purse/bags.

Here's to this weekend and my first room. The plan is to go room by room. Who knows, it might take me...

till we leave this place!!! but it will be done!!!

So.....who's with me?!?!?
